"The Roadmap" to business success

Mr. Rucker has experience across multiple disciplines including engineering, operations, sales, marketing, product development, business development and strategic planning at global software, internet and telecommunications companies. Fred’s demonstrated leadership across multiple companies – Network Mantra, Vectant, Global One, Bell Canada, Sprint, AT&T - provides CMP clients the breadth and depth of experience to overcome almost any challenge.

Career highlights include:

As EVP and Chief Sales and Marketing Officer at Vectant, Inc., a Marubeni [Japan] backed start up company; Fred built a sales force, brand, and e-commerce platform to deliver end-to-end networking solutions for their multi-national clients.

As EVP, Marketing and Business Development for Global One, Rucker implemented programs to grow the $1.3 billion portfolio of IP, Data and Voice services in 65 countries. As a result, Global One surpassed all other carriers to be the Global Carrier market share leader.

As SVP and Chief Strategist for Bell Canada, Fred’s team implemented company-wide initiatives that reversed the market share losses for this $9 billion portfolio and successfully doubled net income over a period of 18 months.

As VP International Business Development, Rucker negotiated a win-win deal between Sprint and Mexico’s Telemex that provided Telemex with the infrastructure to become a dominant telecom player. He later negotiated deals to provide services in countries around the world including China, Russia, Australia, Mexico, and Poland.

Fred’s extensive experience across all facets of telecommunications gives him the working knowledge to help clients evaluate their options for building their telecommunications business – including how to evaluate new technology, uncover viable, sustainable products and understand whether it is best to own the technology, establish a virtual factory or some hybrid.

Rucker earned a B.S. in mechanical engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute and an MBA from Columbia University. He has served on the Worcester Polytechnic Institute Board of Trustees since 1996 and chairs the Development Committee.

Additionally, Fred serves on the Board of Interactive Cable Communications (a Japanese Internet infrastructure company); and is a charter member of the Strategic Advisory Board of Scient (an e-Commerce consulting company).
