•
Integration of Merged Companies
Situation:
A Venture Capital Group employed one of our partners as
an Interim CEO to manage the restructuring and repositioning
of a Competitive Local Exchange Carrier. The
new company was the result of a successful merger and the
creation of a profitable business with a critical mass.
Action:
By using an interim leader, it was possible to hit the ground
running in an urgent situation and to avoid some of the
entitlements and conflicts when two permanent leaders are
forced to compete for a single lead position in the merged
company.
Results:
The merger was successful. There was no feeling of one group
be acquired by the other. Decisions were made quickly and
for the benefit of the VC, not the employees of one of
the firms over the other.
A major CLEC was experiencing growing pains.CMP
was brought in to address several operational issues
including a large backlog of orders waiting to be fulfilled
and limited visibility into asset utilization.
Action:
—
•breakdowns in order processing
—
•gaps in each link of the supply chain
from initial sale to customer delivery
—
a cohesive process to predict and optimize capital investments
—
•senior leadership’s limited
visibility into the day to day business operations
Results:
Both the speed and quality of product delivery were improved.Monthly
order throughput tripled and the backlog was significantly
reduced. Top
down capital budget tools and processes to prioritize
expenditures were implemented.
